Basic characteristics of Fabric duct

1/ Section

In the case of square and triangular ducts, the external shape is maintained, but in actual use, the shape may be slightly deformed due to the discharge pressure, suction pressure, and flexibility of each material.

2/ Size by type

We manufacture fabric ducts and diffusers for all dimensions from 100 to 2000 mm. The dimensions of the duct inlet and the connecting part are always made 10~15mm larger than the specifications in the order form.

The default build dimensions are: 100, 125, 160, 200, 250, 315, 400, 500, 630, 710, 800, 900, 1000, 1120, 1250, 1400, 1600, 1800 , 2000

3/ Length

Fabric ducting and the length of the diffuser are, in principle, determined according to the size of the indoor space (width, length, and height). A uniform air can be supplied through the fabric diffuser along the length of the duct. Depending on the material used, the design of the laser hole, and the pressure level of the system, the exact design may vary slightly.

A – Beginning – 100 to 200 mm

B – middle part – 5,000 to 10,000 mm, can be repeated depending on the length

C – End – 100 to 11,000 mm

  • Each fabric duct is connected by a zipper, and the number and position of zippers can be changed according to customer needs.

  • The overall length is provided in mm units (A + B + C), and the duct facility and diffuser are manufactured separately.

4/ pressure

The pressure loss of fabric duct air conditioning is very similar to that of steel duct. The complex calculation process of distribution systems is similar to that of steel ducts. The minimum static pressure needed to hold the fabric diffuser in its correct shape or system will depend on the weight of the fabric used.

Light materials require at least 20 Pa (approximately 2 mmAg) and medium and heavy materials require at least 50 Pa (approximately 5 mmAg). The distributed air pressure inside the fabric duct is different from that of the normal duct. The reason is that in a normal duct, when the airflow decreases, the flow rate also decreases, but in a fabric diffuser, the air pressure in all parts is the same. If you consult with us about the design of fabric ducting in the air conditioning system, you can make a more efficient and economical choice.
